Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information 1st Class Driving School (Apka Desi) collects when you contact us, book lessons, or use this website — and how we use, share and protect it.
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Who we are
1st Class Driving School (also known as Apka Desi Driving School) is a driving school based at 804 Monroe Dr, Harleysville, PA 19438, with a second branch at 501 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19601. We are the "data controller" of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us any time at (215) 740-2841 or info@apkadesidrivingschool.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you call, text, WhatsApp, email, or book with us, we may collect:
- Your name and phone number
- Your email address, if you give it to us
- The town where you'd like lessons and your preferred language
- The lesson package you're interested in and anything you tell us about your driving experience
- Your pickup address, once you schedule lessons
- Learner's permit or license details where PennDOT rules require us to check them
- Payment details you send us for a lesson: a Zelle reference or the receipt screenshot you upload
You can book by phone, WhatsApp, or online on our booking page. An online booking sends us your name, phone number, email (if given), pickup town and location, the package, date and time you chose, how you plan to pay, and any notes. It is stored in our own booking system on our web host — not on an outside booking platform — and it is seen only by our office and the instructor teaching your lessons. We then email you what you need about that booking: payment instructions, the confirmation, any change or cancellation, and, once your lessons are finished, a single request to review us. Card payments, when offered, happen on Stripe's secure checkout pages — we never see or store your card number. Zelle payments go bank-to-bank.
When you submit the "Request a call back" form, two things happen. First, it opens WhatsApp on your device with your details pre-filled — nothing is sent on that channel until you press send yourself. Second, the details you entered (name, phone, email if given, town, preferred language, package, notes, and your consent choice) are saved to a secure lead list we control, so we can follow up on your request. With the consent you give on the form, we may also contact you with occasional offers by call, WhatsApp, text message, or email. Every such message includes a way to opt out — reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe line in any email, or just tell us — and we stop. We never sell or share this list.
When you ask for your permit practice test results by email, we save your name (if given), your email address, your score and your consent choice, and we email you your results: your score, how you did by topic and the questions to review. The form's box asks for your agreement to hear from us about lessons and occasional offers by email, so your address also goes on our email list. We keep that list in our own system and send those emails ourselves, through the mail service of our web host, Hostinger — no outside email-marketing company receives your address. Every email sent to the list has an unsubscribe link that works with one click, and you can also reply "unsubscribe" or call us. Once you unsubscribe we do not add you back.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard, short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, as virtually all web hosts do. Beyond that, this website uses the following analytics and advertising tools. They collect information such as your IP address, device and browser, the pages you view, how you arrived, and what you tap or click (for example, a call button or a booking), using cookies and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (Google LLC) — to see which pages help visitors and which lead to a call or a booking. Google explains how it uses this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Google Ads conversion tracking (Google LLC) — to measure whether our ads lead to calls and bookings. This can also let Google show our ads to people who have visited this site before.
- Google AdSense (Google LLC) — shows advertising on some of our free blog articles, never on the pages where you book lessons.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — to measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram advertising, including showing our ads to people who visited this site.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — to see how visitors use our pages through behavioral metrics, heatmaps and session replay, so we can fix what is confusing. By default, Clarity masks what you type into forms.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics — counts visits without cookies and, as Ahrefs describes it, without collecting personal data.
- Cookiebot (Usercentrics) — our cookie-consent tool; it remembers the choice you make.
Advertising cookies. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. You can control Meta's use of this information in your Facebook ad preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
Your choice. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, none of these tools stores cookies or uses your data for advertising until you agree in our cookie banner. Everywhere else they run by default, and you can say no at any time. Use Change cookie settings on our Cookie Policy page, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we treat as an opt-out of advertising. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and schedule your lessons
- To arrange free door-to-door pickup and provide our services
- To take payment for lessons you book
- To meet PennDOT and other legal requirements that apply to driving instruction
- To answer questions and provide customer support
- To ask, once, after your lessons, whether you'd like to leave a review — you can always ignore it
- To understand how our website is used and to measure and improve our advertising, as described above
The only marketing emails we send are the occasional lesson news and offers described above, and only to people who agreed to them. We never use your information for automated decisions about you. The advertising tools above may use browsing information to choose which ads you see; you can turn that off as described above.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you contact us from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / UK GDPR) gives your information extra protection. We rely on these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — using your details to schedule and deliver the lessons you book
- Legitimate interests — responding to inquiries, keeping basic business records, and protecting our website
- Legal obligation — records that PennDOT, tax, or accounting rules require us to keep
- Consent — analytics and advertising cookies, our email list, and anything else optional; you can withdraw consent at any time in our cookie settings, or with the unsubscribe link in any list email
We are a Pennsylvania business and our services are provided in the United States, so information you send us is processed in the US. If you contact us from the EEA or UK, you do so knowing your information will be transferred here; we protect it as described in this policy regardless of where you live.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for money — ever. We share it only:
- With your instructor, so they know who to pick up, where, and in which language to teach
- With service providers that make the website and booking work (see the next section)
- With analytics and advertising partners (Google, Meta, Microsoft) — only the browsing information their tools collect on this site, as described above, never your booking details
- When the law requires it — for example, a valid legal request from a government authority
Third-party services we use
Some things you do on this site are handled by other companies under their own privacy policies:
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — if you message us on WhatsApp, or use our contact form (which opens WhatsApp), your message is delivered under WhatsApp's privacy policy.
- Google (Google LLC) — Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads and AdSense as described above, and our review links, which open Google Maps; all governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — the Meta Pixel, under Meta's privacy policy.
- Microsoft Corporation — Clarity; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Usercentrics (Cookiebot) — records your cookie choice, under the Cookiebot privacy policy.
- Stripe, Inc. — if you pay by card, checkout happens on Stripe's own pages under Stripe's privacy policy. Stripe processes your card details; we receive only confirmation of payment, the amount, and the name/contact you enter at checkout.
- Zelle and your bank — if you pay by Zelle, the transfer is processed by your bank and Zelle under their own terms. We never see or store your bank credentials.
- Our web host (Hostinger) — serves this website, keeps the standard server logs described above, and delivers the emails we send you.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as we need it: inquiry details until your question is resolved, lesson and payment records for as long as tax, accounting, and PennDOT rules require, and no longer. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.
How we protect your information
We keep the personal information we hold to a minimum, restrict access to the people who need it to teach your lessons, and use reputable providers for the website, booking, and messaging. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your details, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can always ask us to:
- Access — tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
- Correct — fix information that is wrong or out of date
- Delete — erase your information, unless the law requires us to keep it
- Stop contacting you — opt out of any follow-up messages at any time
To exercise any of these rights, call (215) 740-2841 or email info@apkadesidrivingschool.com. We will respond within 30 days and will never charge you or treat you differently for making a request.
Additional rights for EEA and UK visitors (GDPR)
Under the GDPR you also have the right to restrict or object to our processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you can complain to your local data protection supervisory authority — though we'd appreciate the chance to resolve it directly first.
Additional rights for US state residents
Some US states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others) give residents rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We never sell your information for money, but the Google Ads, AdSense and Meta tools described above may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some of those laws. You can opt out at any time with Change cookie settings on our Cookie Policy page, or by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor automatically. We honor the rights above for every visitor, regardless of state.
Children and teen learners
Many of our students are teens with a valid Pennsylvania learner's permit. For students under 18, we require a parent or guardian to make the booking and provide their own contact details, and we communicate scheduling and payment matters with the parent or guardian. This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them; if you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers handle the older "Do Not Track" signal inconsistently, and there is no agreed standard for it, so this site does not respond to it. We do honor Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends it, our advertising tools are switched off for your visit, and your cookie settings are always available on our Cookie Policy page.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Meaningful changes will be flagged clearly on this page.
